Autism: A Story or Recovery
William Knot arrived at our clinic a very sick boy, suffering from GERD and a variety of health problems, professionals told his mother that it was just Autism and the health problems were nothing to be concerned about and even considered normal.
Edna Knot did not take their advice. Her instincts told her these professionals were wrong so she tackled the huge task of seeking out appropriate medical treatments for her son.
She now writes us as the mother of a Recovered Autistic Child. The following is a letter sent to us by Edna.
Dr. Stoller,
I am sending this brief update to inform you of Williams progress.
William met with you on 12/13/08 for a consult. He had been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder by his Pediatrician.
William suffered with severe gastroesophageal reflux disease with a resulting Nissenfundoplication surgery and G-tube placed. He also underwent oral surgery to remove his front two teeth and cap his others to protect them from the gerd.
All these health issues came directly following his vaccines at 18 months old.
He stopped talking,stopped making eye contact,cried all night long,he had chronic diarrhea,blistering skin,vomiting,his soft curly hair became brittle and coarse,and more disturbing were the self injurious behaviors and new stemming behaviors that we had never seen before in him. He had changed right before our eyes;Our once happy playful toddler was gone.
We were told that he was "Just Autistic" and that all of these new symptoms and changes in him were just coincidentally at the same time as the five vaccines given to him in one day.
Now he is two and no longer will eat food by mouth and is using the g-tube for feedings. He had very little receptive behaviors and he had very limited language (he used a few echolalic type words and once again we were told that he wouldn't be able to be in a regular school,he would always be in diapers and that 2.5 years of diarrhea was "normal" for an Autistic child.
Let me tell you about William now! This is nothing short of a miracle(and I share this with everyone I meet)!
William met you on 12/13/08 and we began following a daily routine of meds and vitamins/supplements;after three days of the supplements we noticed more language and after the first M-B12 injection we noticed eye contact and increased concentration. After one week he spoke in sentences. He told his 13 year old brother "Dakota you are my best friend" YES I CRIED!!! I can say that every day he has made so much progress that we are now three months into supplementation and healing his little body and I am happy to report that he was assessed for ABA classes and he DOES NOT QUALIFY ! He is no longer considered Autistic! Everyone in the school district evaluated him and was shocked because he was not the same kiddo that they had earlier assessed in pity for the special needs classes. He is now considered normal among his peers and will be in a regular preschool classroom.
I can not thank you enough for giving me back my son. I attribute his amazing results to removing toxins and healing his little body. I can not go anywhere without giving a testimony of his miraculous recovery. So please share this with your readers so others can see that there is hope and we can get our children back!
